SplitCam is compatible with various video file types, including AVI, MP4, FLV, and others. However, it seems that you are experiencing some issues with SplitCam freezing or displaying a black screen. To troubleshoot this problem, you may want to try updating SplitCam to the latest version or checking for any compatibility issues with your operating system or camera setup.

When i create a new media source and import a .mp4 video file, I cant get the existing audio to play with the video

Answer by Pooja Bajaj

It is possible that there may be an issue with the settings or configuration of SplitCam. Ensure that the audio settings in SplitCam are correctly configured to play the imported video file's audio. Additionally, check if the video file itself has audio and it is not muted or inaudible.

I'm using SplitCam and I want to know from where can I change the resolution. I bought a webcam which supports 1024X768 resolution and when I'm using it with SplitCam the resolution is only 320x240. I have a very good Internet connection. Can you help?

Answer by Pete Clapp

SplitCam uses 320x240 resolution as the default resolution. In order to change it, you need to close all programs and browsers that may use the program and to go at Options > Resolution. Here you can select a higher resolution and 4:3 or 16:9 as aspect ratio. For further details, press Alt + H key combination and check the Options menu from SplitCam overview > Tools.

With this program, can I record videos with audio in HD to my PC? I have a Cannon A1 XL professional. The cable uses the camera's firewire.

Answer by Alex Urbach

No, you can't use this application to record videos and audio in HD. The SplitCam application is used to add cool effects to your webcam or video files loaded on your computer. There is no way to capture the stream. You should use the application that comes with your Canon camera to record any video you might need.

Additionally, for your operation, the Adobe OnLocation is the recommended one to record directly to disc in HD and with audio.

Splitcam is available for downloading from the Software Informer or from its official website. In either cases, you should remove your old version (if there is one installed) and install a new one.

The reason why SplitCam may not install on Windows 8 is likely because it is not compatible with the operating system. It may be necessary to upgrade to a newer version of Windows in order to use SplitCam.
